Portfolio task 4

To raise your children with a good manners you need to encourage them to compete or to cooperate with each other, so that they can became independent and useful adults. Competition and cooperation are both important skills in children’s life because they can help to improve their knowledge and experience. Some people think that competition is more important than cooperation between children and some people are against that and say that cooperation is more important. In this essay I’m going to discuss both ideas.

First of all, the first reason that people think that competition is more important is that it can help them to search and look around for answers. The second reason is that it will help them to get high marks by competing with others. The third reason is that they can work alone without others help which can prepare them for the future.

 On the other hand, the reason that some people like the cooperation is that they think it help the children to improve their knowledge by sharing ideas with each other. If we group the children the percentage of failure will be decreased. The other reason is that when you make groups in a class it will end up with competition between groups.

In my opinion, children need both competition and cooperation with each other because they can help them to improve their skills and will prepare them for the future.

Portfolio task 2

Two bar chart are shown. The first bar chart shows the reasons for study according to the students’ age group. The second bar chart shows the amount of support they received from employers in the UK. In this report I’m going to discuss the important information.

Firstly, the overall trend in the first bar chart is that people of age 39 and below study to improve their knowledge at work. For students over 49 they study for interest.  For example 70% of them study for interest and 19% study for career. The exception is that people from 40 to 49, half of them study for interest and half of them study for career.

The second bar chart shows the employers support by age. The overall trend was that employers support the students under 26 by giving them the highest fees which reached around 63%. It also shows that people aged 30 to 39 had the lowest support from their employer.

All in all, the two bar charts show that students under the age from 26 have the highest numbers who study for career and they receive the highest fees from employers.

Portfolio task 1

The table provides the amount of weekly sales from 7^th to 13^th of October at a small restaurant in an American business district. In this report I will summarize the important information.  

          The overall trend is that the income of dinners was higher than the lunches. For example the total income of dinners was $22,000. Looking at the table we can see that during the week Monday to Friday the income was stable from $2,300 to $2,600 at lunches and from $3,500 to $4,350 at dinners.

          On the other hand the weekends show that the income was very low due to the holidays and people like to join their families. We can see that on Saturday the income at lunch and dinner was the least according to the table. To clarify, the income was $1,950 and $2,900 respectively.

         To sum up, the overall trend is that the weekend income was less because of the holidays and on Sunday the restaurant was closed.
